Welcoming the 2024-2025 Pre-University Cohort

On April 18, parents and students of the 2024-2025 Pre-University cohort were welcomed to their first official Grade 12 event. In addition to an address by Ms. Lynam, Program Coordinator and Ms. Peterman, College and University Advisor , the highlight of the evening was the panel of 6 current Pre-University students. Mr. Banerjee, Head of Senior School, facilitated a candid conversation with the young men about the opportunity Pre-University provides for personal and academic growth, the experience of integrating into a new community and, the hard work and dedication it takes to manage academics, athletics, social lives and the university application process. Parents and students had an opportunity to talk to Pre-University staff, the College and University Advisor and current students after the formal presentation. While it was nice to see many familiar faces, it was lovely to welcome new students and parents to the Selwyn House School community.

Following this event, the 2024-2025 Pre-University class gathered for the first time as a cohort on April 19. The future Pre-University students were welcomed into the Pre-University space with breakfast and a few ice breaker activities to begin the day. Over the course of the day the cohort worked collaboratively on team building challenges, learned about questions to ask and where to begin when researching universities, and had small group workshops on the university application process. The group was vibrant and energetic over the course of the day and were excited to lay the foundation of the community vibe they want to instill for next year.
