Elementary School Volunteers at Hockey Helps the Homeless

Mr. Christian Matossian '90, and father of Nico M. in Grade 6, has been involved for a decade to the organizing committee of Hockey Helps the Homeless Montreal (HHTH). Throughout these years, his sons and fellow Gryphon hockey players have consistently volunteered during fundraising tournaments. On April 12, eight Grade 5 and 6 A hockey team players volunteered at the Pierrefonds Sportsplexe continuing this tradition.

Reflecting on the day, Mr. Matossian emphasized, "They worked hard from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, represented their school and Veritas well, and were bright and polite additions to the day." He noted their engagement with the frontline homelessness organizations present, underscoring the educational experience gained as they learned about the organizations' work and its impact on Montreal.

Selwyn House School extends our gratitude to Mr. Matossian and HHTH for providing the boys with an opportunity to give back to the community and to learn about homelessness. The volunteers included Zach B., Lapo B., William E., Ben H., Nico M., Liam V., Nico W., and Anson Y.
