 | “Academic excellence in a civil community”
For many years, Mr. William Mitchell, Headmaster of Selwyn House School from 1984 to 2008, used this phrase to describe the mission of the school. While we do have a Statement of Purpose, this simple phrase has been used to guide our decisions and actions in everyday life at the school, in the strategic planning for the school, and in developing the evolving vision of the school.
The purpose of the Advancement Team is to advance the mission of the school. Through friend-raising and fundraising, the Advancement Team specialists work to maintain and develop the school’s relationships with its students, parents, alumni, parents of alumni, former staff and the many friends of Selwyn House School.
Dedicated volunteers from the Parent Association, the Old Boys’ Association, the Selwyn House Association Board of Directors and its Committees, and the staff and faculty of Selwyn House School, all work closely to keep the Selwyn House Family informed and actively involved in making Selwyn House School a place where “academic excellence in a civil community” continues to be our focus.
I am pleased to introduce you to the members of the Selwyn House School Advancement Team, and encourage you to contact any of them to answer questions you may have.
