Coach Held's notes & photos from the CAIS U-13 Soccer Tournament, Day One
Today was the first day of the tournament. After being greeted by a very welcoming crowd at the opening ceremonies the boys were focused and ready to go!

GAME 1 (GNS,Victoria,BC)- Down 2-0 going into the 2nd half the boys battled back, scored 3 goals and won 3-2! Although this team was stronger than us we took advantages of all our chances.

GAME 2: (SHS,Toronto) Finding themselves in a familiar spot down 2-0 after the 2nd half, the boys once again battled back and scored 4 goals in the 2nd half to win win 4-3; their second second win of the day.

Game 3: (Cresent School, Toronto)- An annual U13 powerhouse Cresent School came out strong, but strong defensive play and goaltending (including 2 stopped penalty shots) limited their scoring and the game ended 1-1 tie.

Our record means that we have finished first in our pool and have advanced to the Championship division as one of the top seeds. You can view the updated tournament bracket here:

The boys were very respectful and represented the school very well all day!

Coach Held's notes & photos from the CAIS U-13 Soccer Tournament, Day Two
Today was our second day of the tournament and another round robin in the championship division. This day proved a little more challenging then yesterday. To begin, Winnipeg weather finally showed up and we were playing most of our games in the cold rain. Not only was the sun missing today, so was our rhythm to score clutch goals.
GAME 1: Collingwood ( West Vancouver,BC). A strong team with speedy players. They took a 2-0 lead going into the 2nd half. It seemed that our game plan from yesterday to come back after being down 2-0 wasn't executed and they won 3-0.
GAME 2: St.Andrews (Aurora,ON). A weaker team that we dominated in possession and out shot them for the majority of the game. We could not finish our chances and it took a last minute penalty shot goal for them to tie the game.
GAME 3: West Point Grey (Vancouver,BC). One of the stronger teams in our pool. They easily beat other teams by more than a 5 goal differential. We played a very strong defensive game, but still could not score losing 2-0.
Today's results mean that we do not advance to the Championship Division semi-finals. We will play a friendly game against St.Georges (Vancouver,BC) before leaving Winnipeg.
