Senior debaters make finals at Dawson
The Selwyn House Senior Debating Team of Matthew Homa and Sasha Klein-Charland (both Gr. 11) made it to the finals but lost in a close contest at the Dawson College high school debating tournament, held April 10 and 11.
The Selwyn House team of Dylan Lee and Daniel Bergevin (both Gr. 11) made it to the semifinals.
In all, Selwyn House entered five teams into the tournament, the remaining debaters being: George Adamopoulos and Denis Dariotis (both Gr. 11); and Mackenzie Blaise, Mitchell Vineberg, James Sabbagh and William Alvaro (all Gr.10).
Five Selwyn debaters finished among the top 10 individual speakers: Matthew, Sasha, Dylan, Daniel, and Mackenzie.
One of the organizers of the tournament was Selwyn House 2020 graduate and star debater Josh Cohen, now attending Dawson College.
