Gryphon vs. Gryphon at McGill
It was Gryphon Old Boys against Gryphon Seniors in the finals of the McGill University Winter Bonanza debating competition held over the February 9-10 weekend.
From Selwyn House Senior School, Félix St. Onge-Tavchandjian (Gr.11), Gabriel Trottenberg (Gr.11), Joshua Cohen (Gr. 10), and Gabriel Di Bert (Gr. 10) all made the break and finished among the top-10 speakers.
Josh and Gabriel won the semifinal before being eliminated by Selwyn House graduates Jarren Fefer and Nabeel Ahmed (both Class of 2017).
From the Middle School, Dylan Lee and Daniel Bergevin (both Gr. 8) were in the Junior Final. Dylan Lee finished as First-Place Junior Speaker, and Daniel Third.
Alex Singer (Gr. 11) debated alone when his partner had to drop out due to illness.
