Selwyn House racks up 6 wins at McEntyre

Six Selwyn House students were among the winners in the 2020 McEntyre Writing Competition, an annual event sponsored by the Westmount Public Library.

Gabriel Michel came in second for Grade 1.

Adam Chaban and Zev Auerbach placed second and third, respectively, in Grade 2, while Adamo Ben Chikh won honorable mention.

Andrew Carsley placed third in Grade 6.

Dylan Lee placed third for Grade 10.

There were 382 entries in this year’s competition. The library will officially announce the winners on June 3.

The McEntyre competition is named for Peter McEntyre, Mayor of Westmount from 1969 to 1971. He set up a trust fund to support an annual writing competition to encourage young people to think about the idea of community, and to learn more about their own communities
