Archibald profiled by McGill Athletics

In observance of Black History Month, Selwyn House Old Boy Joshua Archibald 2015 is profiled on the McGill University Athletics and Recreation website for his prospects with the National Football League.

The article describes Josh as a player “who never played the sport before his senior year at Selwyn House School, but is a legitimate candidate to become the fourth McGill player to merit a roster spot in the NFL.”

“Archie was destined for a talented career once we got him to put the pads on in Grade 11,” recalls Selwyn House Director of Athletics Mike Maurovich. “He is a great example of perseverance and blossoming athletically once he found his niche.”

After Selwyn House, Josh attended Upper Canada College, where his team won two championships. In his second year there, he was coached by another Selwyn House Old Boy, Oliver Maurovich 2009.

During his 2019 football season at McGill, Josh was named an RESQ All-Star.

"Statistically speaking, with his size, speed and smarts, he's what they're looking for at the NFL level,” says McGill Head Coach Ronald Hilaire. “If he gets invited to an NFL combines camp, I believe that he has a good shot to make it at that level because he will be faster than most players."
