Near-perfect score in Gauss Math

Selwyn House Grade 7 student Jerry Han recorded a near-perfect perfect score of 142 on the Gauss Math Contest, which Middle School boys wrote on May 13.
 
Among Grade 7 students, in addition to Jerry’s almost-perfect score, William He came in second with a score of 113, and Mikhail Anishin won third place with a score of 112.
 
In Grade 8, Ian Yoon won first place with a score of 126, Michael Xu came in second with a score of 115 and Harry Ma came in third with a score of 108.
 
All Grade 7 students and ten Grade 8 students wrote the exam.
 
“It was an incredibly strong outcome this year!” says Middle School Math Teacher Christine Morris. “We are incredibly proud of the students for trying something new and working so hard!”
