22nd Annual Barbecue Brings Young Old Boys Together


Twenty-eight Old Boys and 14 staff members attended the Young Old Boys’ annual barbecue, which took place on August 18. They were: 
 
Class of 2013: Jordan Kruger; Class of 2016: Quentin Corning, Michael-Anthony Di Salvatore, Matthew Frances, Raphael Gad, Mark Hladky, William Lasry, Matthew Lindsay, William Rossy, Gregory Segal, Trevor Tabah; Class of 2018: Kyle Blasi, Matthew Caponi, Aria Khiabani, Angus Scott, Sean Watson; Class of 2019: Jonathan Milner; Class of 2020: Keon Khiabani, Alexis Delplace; Class of 2021: George Adamopoulos; Matt Azoulay; Justin Boomhower; Denis Dariotis; Matthew Homa; James Levitt; Luca Manini-Vanasse; Sean Vinh and Camden Widgington.
 
Also attending were staff members Neil Banerjee, Alex Becker, Mary Ann Cloherty, Sharon Cozens, Mike Downey, Tom Downey, Julie Fekete, Irina Kondratieva, Sebastien Lajoie, Mike Maurovich, Chantal Sneath, Irène Vidal, Mark Watson and Richard Wills. 
 
Everyone was treated to a performance by members of the Six Feet Apart Band: Jordan Kruger '13, Aria Khiabani '18, Jonathan Milner '19, Keon Khiabani '20, and Arts Department Head and music teacher Alex Becker. 
 
Headmaster Mike Downey updated the group on preparations for the upcoming year and his optimistic outlook on Selwyn’s future as it recently transitioned to becoming a fully private school.
 
Director of Advancement Sharon Cozens and Director of Annual Giving Mary Ann Cloherty encouraged attendees to stay connected with the school through the Old Boys’ Association. They spoke about the history of strong alumni connections at Selwyn House and how, in a recent survey, the school ranked very high in building relationships with Old Boys. “Get involved and keep in touch. You’re all part of a great network,” Ms. Cozens said.
