Multiple generations gather at Central and Western Canada reunion

On October 13, four Old Boys joined Selwyn House staff for the Central and Western Canada Chapter reunion hosted by Headmaster Mike Downey and Advancement Office staff.

The small gathering of four alumni was made notable by the fact that multiple generations of Old Boys were represented. Richard J. Bennetts ‘51 (celebrating his 70th anniversary this year), Andrew Funamoto ‘06 (celebrating his 15th anniversary) and Enoch Tamale ‘20 joined from British Columbia, while Michael Zenaitis ‘86 (celebrating his 35th anniversary) joined the rest of the group from his home in Calgary. Each shared fond memories of their time at the school, including Mr. Bennetts who attended the school during Mr. Wanstall’s tenure as Headmaster.

Athletic Director Mike Maurovich and coach Pete Govan (in his 50th year of teaching) told some laughter-inducing tales, and the group recalled memories of an Old Boys’ Golf Tour to BC.
