Results are in for Senior Math Contests

Senior School announced the results of three contests organized by the University of Waterloo, Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing, which were written online before March Break.

Pascal Contest

Selwyn House ranked 9th, out of 128 schools in Quebec who wrote the Pascal Contest. The following Grade 9 students scored among the top 25% in Canada:

Jerry Chaw
ChenChen Shi
Oscar Tsang
Michael Xu
Ian Yoon
Leon Zhang

Ian Yoon was named the school’s top scorer, ranking amongst the top 7 students out of all 1,183 students who wrote the contest in Quebec.

Cayley Contest

Grade 10 students helped Selwyn House rank 11th out of 135 schools in Quebec in the Cayley contest. The following students scored among the top 25% in Canada:

Adolfo de Motto Molina
Charles Seitz
Yikai (Ken) Zhao

Adolfo De Motta Molina was named the school’s top scorer, ranking amongst the top 20 students out of all 1,098 students who wrote the contest in Quebec. 

Fermat Contest

Written by Grade 11 students, the Fermat contest results placed Selwyn House 14th,  out of 153 schools in Quebec.

Louis Girard and Simon Yao scored among the top 25% in Canada, with Yao named as the school’s top scorer and one of the top 6 students out of the 958 students who wrote the contest in Quebec.

Inter-House Math Kahoot Contest

Senior School also announced the top scoring students for each house during the TAG Math Kahoot which took place during the Senior School Inter-House Math Competition earlier this spring.
