Senior School students enjoyed Fantastic Friday

On Friday, September 2, the Senior School students enjoyed Fantastic Friday, a day of activities planned and led by their elected student leaders. The day started with an opening assembly to introduce the student leaders and welcome new students and staff into their respective houses. The Prefects invited Old Boy Will Rossy '16 to speak to the Senior School about the values of growth/learning and health/wellbeing. Rossy is a content creator focused on helping others on their journeys of self-discovery through his platform Sprouht. The students reflected that Rossy's message of focusing inwards to discover your own passions and your own pathway was important to them as they start to think about their post-secondary options; furthermore, Rossy spoke to his gratitude for the teachers he had at Selwyn, their care and attention to his personal development, and the experiences he was given during his time here. After the assembly, students went to House meetings where they collected house-coloured swag before heading off to various locations in Westmount to face-off in house-based competitions, such as bubble soccer, camp games, trivia, and three-legged races. The day was a wonderful way to cap off a week of community-building in preparation for the school year ahead.
