Senior School Math Teachers Attend Inspiring Talk and Dinner with Dr. Jo Boaler in NYC

Senior School Math teachers Samara Sayegh and Andrew Lee visited the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) in New York City on May 16 to hear Dr. Jo Boaler give a talk on The Beauty of Multidimensional Mathematics. Dr. Boaler is a Nomellini & Olivier Professor of Education at Stanford University and co-founder of youcubed, an organization whose mission is to "inspire, educate and empower teachers of mathematics, transforming the latest research on maths learning into accessible and practical forms."

Following the talk, Ms. Sayegh and Mr. Lee were absolutely delighted to have an intimate dinner with Dr. Boaler, Ms. Cathy Williams, co-founder of youcubed and Dr. Tim Chartier, the Joseph R. Morton Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Davidson College and the current Distinguished Visiting Professor for the Public Dissemination of Mathematics at the National Museum of Mathematics.

Ms. Sayegh and Mr. Lee returned from New York feeling inspired, optimistic and truly motivated about the small and large scale opportunities to disseminate and implement the ideology and practice learned from their visit.
