Music development trip to Toronto

In preparation for their upcoming concerts, students from the mixed jazz band and mixed choir of Selwyn House School and ECS embarked on a four-day music development trip to Toronto. The trip was not only a musical experience, but it also exposed the students to Canada's rich culture and history. They explored some of the city's most iconic landmarks, such as the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Toronto Aquarium. The students also had the opportunity to attend workshops with specialists from the University of Toronto, where they received invaluable insights into the art of choral and jazz band performance. Additionally, they got to rehearse in the beautiful chapel and band room of their friends at Royal St. George's College. To add more excitement to their trip, the students attended a Harry Potter theatre production, a Medieval Times dinner and jousting show, and a glow-in-the-dark puppet show. Overall, the students had an unforgettable experience that not only developed their musical skills but also enriched their cultural knowledge. - Mr. Becker, Department Head of arts, Music teacher
