Obituary: Peter Stewart '81
Peter Tinling Stewart ’81 died on March 27. The following obituary appeared in the Ottawa Citizen:
It is with shattered hearts that we announce the passing of Peter on March 27, 2018, at the age of 54. Peter will be forever missed by his wife, Cynthia, and their three sons, Maxwell, Alan, and Eric. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Tom (Heather), Kathy (Bill), and David (Jan). Peter also leaves behind his nephews Chris and Andrew and his nieces Julia and Ainsley, who all loved him dearly. Peter was predeceased by his parents, William and Margery, and his sister, Andrea. He was also predeceased by his mother-in-law, Shirley McDowall. A celebration of Peter's life will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sacred Space of Beechwood, Cemetery and Funeral Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa. Peter fought hard to win his battle with cancer and appreciated every one of you who supported him, and all of us, through his journey. Thank you. Peter was so well cared for on 5 East at the Ottawa General Hospital and we can't thank the doctors, nurses, and support workers enough for their care, compassion, and help to all of us over the past five months. A very special thank you to Dr. Condon, Rayelle, Dr. Munro and Liz, who all made a difference. A special thank you to Dr. Lambert and the nurses on the second floor of the Cancer Centre. In lieu of flowers, please consider giving blood or making a donation in Peter's memory to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation Cancer Research or to 5 East.
