SHS co-hosts national U-13 tournament

Selwyn House School played co-host to the annual Canadian Association of Independent Schools’ (CAIS) U-13 National Basketball Tournament throughout January 29 to 31, 2020. Working alongside Lower Canada College, Selwyn House saw a total of 18 teams from five different provinces take part in one of the most exciting basketball events in Canada for this age group.

The tournament final featured a closely-fought battle between perennial powerhouses Upper Canada College (Toronto, ON) and St. George’s School (Vancouver, BC). However, it was the collective action of the more than 60 games played between the two campuses that made the event such a spectacular experience.

The tournament organizers were pleased with the outcomes of the event, and would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make the event possible. This is especially true for all parents who hosted student-athletes in their homes throughout the duration of the tournament.

Selwyn House and LCC will team up again in the fall of this 2020 to host the CAIS Senior National Basketball Tournament. This tournament will act as a reprise for all of the boys who took part in the U-13 National Tournaments four and five years ago.
