Seniors work with seniors via Zoom

Selwyn House Senior School students were mentioned in a recent article in The Montreal Gazette for their work with members of Contactivity Centre, a social activity facility for senior citizens in Westmount.

The article dealt with the trend among many community organizations to use Zoom and other online conferencing software to hold meetings that were held in person before the Coronavirus pandemic.

“As part of an intergenerational friendly visiting program funded by Ottawa’s department of Canadian Heritage, students at Selwyn House School started visiting with Contactivity members last fall and, when the pandemic took hold, the visits moved online. They have a social component, of course, but students also provide technical assistance,” the article reads.

This activity was explained in greater detail in an story that appeared on the  Selwyn House website in April. To read this article, click here.
