Juvenile soccer team ends season on disappointing note

The Juvenile soccer team played its last game of the season today, as it lost the championship game to Beaconsfield High School (BHS).

The Gryphons faced a tough opponent who moved the ball well and displayed great foot skills. Despite the Bisons taking a 2-0 lead, our boys battled hard until the very end, scoring a late goal and thus cutting the lead to one goal. The game ended in disappointment as the Gryphons nearly scored the tying goal in the final minutes.

‘‘Though it was a disappointing loss for the team, it marks the end of a very successful season,’’ says coach Dan Elbling. ‘‘The boys should be proud of the way they played all season long, the way they supported each other, and the way they never quit!’’
