Selwyn House sends largest team ever to World Scholar’s Cup

Once again, Selwyn House students participated in the Montreal round of the World Scholar’s Cup. The Selwyn House delegation of 35 students was the largest we have ever sent consisting of four teams from elementary school, seven teams from Middle School, and three teams from Senior School.

The Scholar’s Cup is a celebration of learning. There are four events - team debate, collaborative essay writing, scholar’s bowl, and scholar’s challenge. Each event is focused around a theme. This year’s theme is “Reconstructing the Past” and brings together topics of history, current events, literature, arts, and science.

Selwyn House students received quite a few medals and trophies. Exceptionally, every team did well enough to be invited to a global round!

Thanks to supervisors Ms. Begg, Ms. Egan, and Ms. Montgomery. We are very proud of the students who represented Selwyn House School very well.
