Deuxième cycle du secondaire

Goodbye Speirs offices, hello Pre-University classrooms!

On March 1, staff members gathered for a farewell to the former stomping grounds of the Business and Advancement offices. They wrote messages on the wall and reminisced about all the good times shared in that space. Various staff members had been there since the Speirs building's debut in 2002, the last time Selwyn House School expanded its campus. Staff also took a moment to thank parent volunteer Maryse Deschênes for her extraordinary help orchestrating the move.

Over twenty years later, the time has come for further expansion as we embark on a new chapter here at Selwyn House School with our Pre-University program that begins this Fall. The Business and Advancement teams have moved to a new home on Metcalfe, just a short walk away, so that their former work space can be transformed into the Pre-U classrooms and lounge.

Our Prefects inaugurated this new chapter on March 2, sledge hammer in hand, kicking off the demolition and renovations that will begin during the two-week Spring break. Director of Athletics Mike Maurovich drew a target for inspiration.

This is an exciting time for our school. The students in our 2023-24 Pre-U class will have the opportunity to make their mark and shape the culture of our program for all those who will follow in their footsteps. They will, in fact, graduate exactly 60 years after the very first senior school class did back in 1963-64.

The personalized attention we offer all our students will carry over with our Grade 12 class and, of course, be extended to new students joining us. Our Pre-U students will thrive in small classes, and dedicated staff will prepare them for the next steps of their academic and athletic journeys.

Stay tuned for updates on the new Pre-U spaces as the renovations progress.
