U18 Gryphon Soccer Team Show Spirit at CAIS Soccer Tournament

The CAIS U18 Soccer team traveled to Port Hope, Ontario to participate in this year's tournament hosted by Trinity College School. We played round-robin games against Upper Canada College, Country Day School, and Hillfield Strathallan College, and with a 1-1-1 record, we advanced to the silver division elimination bracket where we faced The York School in a quarter-final match.

We went up 1-0 in the game and were tied 1-1 at the half. We went down 2-1 with about 10 minutes left in the game and scored in the last 5 minutes to tie the game. The tournament rules have elimination games go straight to penalties, and unfortunately, with their goalie making 3 saves in the shootout, TYS won the game.

The Gryphons played all of the tournament games with a lot of heart and a great fighting spirit and the boys represented the school well. As coaches, we were proud to have seen the boys play, learn, and grow as athletes and we're excited to come back to compete in league playoffs.
