After-School Program

Each year, Selwyn House School offers an exciting and active After-School Program, featuring a variety of clubs, homework supervision, and enrichment activities from dismissal until 5:45 p.m. The activities and supervision will vary according to grade level and depending on the day of the week. Details about the various clubs offered will be made available to you in the first Elementary School update of the fall and winter sessions. There are several different options depending on your needs.
The first option is the Extended Day Program, which runs from dismissal until 5:45 p.m. and includes a snack and the extracurricular activity of the day, followed by homework supervision. You can choose any days of the week for your son attend this option. These activities vary from session to session, but in order to get an idea of the types of clubs that are usually offered, please refer to the most current ASP registration form, which can be found in the “ASP Downloads” section (located on the right-hand side of this web page).
The second option is the Grade 1-6 Homework Supervision Program. This will run from dismissal until 4:45 p.m. each day. During this period, French and English monitors will assist the students in completing their homework. Please note that this is not a “remedial” or “tutorial” program. It is a supervised setting for homework completion. Each student will receive a snack and will be expected to remain in the classroom for the entire homework hour.
The third option is the After-School Program Clubs. Each day, instructors will offer age-appropriate activities that run from dismissal until 4:45 p.m. A snack is included for each student. These clubs are automatically included in the Extended Day Program, however, this option enables a student to attend a club without afterwards also attending the homework supervision session (as your son would in the Extended Day Program).
The final option is an Occasional Drop-In Program. In the event that a student cannot be picked up at the regular dismissal time, he can attend the After-School Program for just that one day. Your son would receive a snack just as in the other options, and then proceed to the homework supervision program. He can be picked up anytime before 4:45 p.m. (for the Occasional Homework Option) or up until 5:45 p.m. (in the case of the Occasional Full-Day Option). In order to register your son for this option on a given day, simply inform the ASP by email at as well as his teacher.
