Each year, Selwyn House School offers the After-School Program from dismissal until 5:45 p.m. For this upcoming school year, the program will be offered to a limited number of students for those families needing after-school care. The program will begin on Thursday September 3, 2020. There are several different options depending on your needs.
The first option is the Extended Day Program, which runs from dismissal until 5:45 p.m. and includes a snack, homework supervision, followed by free-time. You can choose any days of the week for your son to attend this option.
The second option is the Grade 1-6 Homework Supervision Program. This will run from dismissal until 4:45 p.m. each day. During this period, French and English monitors will assist the students in completing their homework. Please note that this is not a remedial or tutorial program. It is a supervised setting for homework completion. Each student will receive a snack and will be expected to remain in the classroom for the entire homework hour.
The third option* is the After-School Program Clubs. Each day, instructors will offer age-appropriate activities that run from dismissal until 4:45 p.m. A snack is included for each student. These clubs will be automatically included for those registered in the Extended Day Program. However, parents also have the option to register their sons in only the club(s) which is/are of interest to them.
The final option is an Occasional Drop-In Program. In the event that a student cannot be picked up at the regular dismissal time, he can attend the After-School Program for just that one day. Your son will receive a snack just as in the other options, and then proceed to the homework supervision program. He can be picked up any time before 4:45 p.m. (for the Occasional Homework Option) or up until 5:45 p.m. (in the case of the Occasional Full-Day Option). In order to register your son for this option on a given day, simply inform the ASP by email at email@example.com, Ms. Marlita Manal at firstname.lastname@example.org, as well as his teacher.
