The Hon. P. Michael PITFIELD PITFIELD, The Hon. P. Michael P.C., O.C., C.V.O., Q.C. 1937 - 2017 It is with great sadness that we share the news of our father's passing. Peter Michael Pitfield died peacefully in our family home on October 19, 2017 after a long and noble battle with Parkinson's disease. While we are very sad to see him go, we take comfort in knowing that he will be rejoining his beloved wife Nancy (Snow), as well as his friends and family that have gone before, including his parents, Ward and Grace (MacDougall) Pitfield, and his siblings, Mary-Grace, Robert and Anthony. He is survived by his three children, Caroline (Matthew), Thomas (Anna) and Kate (Thomas), his eight grandchildren, as well as his extended family including his brother, Ward (Diana) and his sisters, Sally and China. Michael was a dear friend and mentor to many. He proudly contributed to the fabric of our country, including as Clerk of the Privy Council and as an independent Senator, as Vice-Chairman of Power Corporation and through charitable work, including as Chairman of the Ottawa Heart Institute.
