A Taste of Literary Language

7-3 students took their writing off the page and into the world of taste with a fun and delicious literary tasting activity!

 

Students experienced six courses of flavours, ranging from spicy to sweet to minty: Takis Blue Heat, M & M's, and peppermint. After each tasting, they used their senses and literary devices to describe the experience. Similes, metaphors, personification, and hyperbole helped transform simple taste descriptions into creative wordplay.

 

The goal? To move beyond literal descriptions and discover how powerful, imaginative language can make an experience come alive.
