Three Old Boys, 125 Kilometres and Nearly $300,000 Raised

Miles for Minds is a charity initiative co-founded by Lorenzo Accurso '19, Matteo Iasenza '19, and Dylan Beauchamp '19 that raises funds for mental health-related causes in Montreal through a 125 km run around the island. In its first year, the team raised over $120,000 for Psychiatry at St. Mary’s Hospital, receiving coverage from Global News and CJAD. This year, Miles for Minds raised $150,000 for the Pet Therapy Program at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, enough to fund the program for an entire year. The 2026 run began at midnight at the Grande Roue in Montreal’s Old Port and followed a 125 km route around the perimeter of the island, returning to the Old Port approximately 20 hours later. Hundreds of Montrealers came out throughout the day to run, volunteer, donate, and cheer the team on. More than 10 participants completed marathon or even double-marathon distances, while many others pushed themselves farther than they ever had before. In just two years, Miles for Minds has raised nearly $300,000 for mental health-related causes in the city. What began with three friends has grown into a community brought together by a simple message: hard things feel possible together.
