Mr. Tom Downey Presented with Teaching Excellence Award by Prime Minister Mark Carney

On December 11, Mr. Tom Downey, Senior School Science Department Head and Pre-U Physics teacher, travelled to Ottawa with his family to receive his Prime Minister's Awards for Teaching Excellence. While there, he was welcomed by Selwyn parent and Member of Parliament for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount, Anna Gainey, and later presented with the award by Prime Minister Mark Carney. This special moment marked the culmination of a well-deserved national honour, recognizing the dedication, passion, and lasting impact Mr. Downey brings to his students and the Selwyn House community every day.
