Obituary: Larry Eldridge, teacher and coach 1967-1970
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Eldridge on Saturday, December 10, 2016, after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Eva Petras; his children Diana (Eric) and Christopher (Mélanie); his grandchildren Matthew, Elizabeth, Lucas and Kayla; his brother-in-law Paul; his dear friends Mary and Henry, as well as many other close friends. Larry will be remembered as a gifted and devoted teacher, coach, organizer of the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games athletics competition, president of the Canadian Track and Field Association, member of the Technical Committee of the IAAF, and as an international sports facilities consultant. A man of integrity, creativity, warmth and generosity of spirit, he will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
