Grade 10 students learn river skills

From September 14 to 17, each of the four Grade 10 classes spent a day on the Lachine Rapids in Verdun learning about river safety. Led by the incredible instructors at Boreal River Rescue, students learned about river hydrology, how to float and swim through rapids, how to catch rescue ropes, and how to perform water crossings. Lastly, they learned to paddle Kaya-Rafts and negotiate sections of the rapids. All the boys had a unique and empowering experience on the river!
