R.E.S.P.E.C.T lesson

This year, Selwyn House has decided on the theme of Respect. To start off the year on the right foot, 4B's homeroom teacher, Ms. Pulice decided to teach a lesson about the importance of practicing respect in all areas of life. She led a meaningful group discussion about what respect looks like to the students, and introduced the acronym R.E.S.P.E.C.T.: Respect, Eachother, Self, Property, Environment, Collaboration, Thoughts. With posters representing the acronym placed around the classroom, students were asked to visit each one and write on a post-it note stating what respect looks like to them for each category. To further their understanding, they were asked to reflect on which category they feel that they have done a good job in, and which category has areas for improvement.
