The Grade 10 science students invited the Kindergarten students to participate in another lecture. This time it was on electrostatics, more commonly known as static electricity. Demonstrations included using a Van de Graaff generator and a Tesla coil (both of which generate high voltages). Students could see (and feel!) small lightning bolts, witnessed electricity igniting paper and even observed a light bulb 'light up' when held in Mr. Downey's mouth! Senior and Kindergarten students had a great time discovering the different components of electrostatics. Everyone is eagerly looking forward to the next time the Kindergarten class gets to visit the Senior science department!
