Soccer and Football Launch Seasons with BU Training Camp

From August 11 to 15 both our Juvenile Soccer and Football teams kicked off their seasons with a record turnout at our annual training camp held at Bishop’s University. From early mornings to late evenings, our athletes dedicated themselves to improving their skills, building teamwork, and experiencing the intensity of high-level training. The players took part in multiple daily sessions, from a 5k run at dawn to drills in dribbling, passing, shooting, and tactics, while also bonding through team-building activities. They had the chance to watch Bishop’s varsity pre-season games and welcomed Old Boy Christopher Byrne, Pre-U '24, who came out to work with our goalkeepers.

For the Varsity Football, the week was equally packed, starting with 6:30 am practices and ending with evening meetings. Players not only trained hard but also gained valuable insight by watching University and CEGEP teams in action. Getting ready for the Gryphon's debut in The Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA), coaches used the time to refine playbooks and strategies, while players pushed themselves, learned more about the game, and strengthened team connections. And of course, no one will forget the hearty meals at the BU cafeteria that kept everyone fueled throughout the week.

A big thank you goes to all the players, coaches and athletic therapists who made this memorable week of growth, learning, and athletic excellence possible!
