Gryphons Varsity Football kick off first CISAA Season
On September 12, 2025, Selwyn House football entered a new era, hosting the St. Mark’s Lions in the Gryphons’ first-ever CISAA matchup. Head Coach Anthony Lukca described the day as “a historic moment for our program and a testament to the hard work of our players.”
The Gryphons set the tone early with a 7–0 lead, but trailed 14–13 at halftime. After regrouping, Selwyn surged ahead with 21 unanswered points—including a stunning 100-yard interception return touchdown. “That play shifted the entire momentum back in our favour,” Coach Lukca noted.
In the end, Selwyn battled to a 34–20 victory. “I couldn’t be prouder of how our team responded under pressure. This was a complete team effort and an incredible start to our CISAA journey,” said Lukca.

Today, the Gryphons travel to Russell, Ontario, to face St. Thomas Aquinas before returning home for Homecoming at the WAG on September 27—kickoff at noon!
