On December 4, Selwyn alumnus Justice Paul Mayer ’74, a Superior Court Judge, generously gave his time to oversee the Grade 11 mock trial held in the library. Students took on the roles of prosecution and defence, tackling a case involving charges of theft and assault. After both sides presented their arguments and questioned witnesses, the jury deliberated and ultimately delivered a verdict of not guilty on all charges. The experience offered students a valuable, hands-on look at the Canadian justice system. - Mr. Sergerie, Senior School Social Studies Teacher
