At Founder’s Day on November 22, Selwyn House parents Mark and Lisa Smith, parents of Michael 2012 and David Smith 2012 and Patrick Bourque 2014, became the first recipients of the newly inaugurated Nancy Pitfield Award for parent volunteers. The award was presented by Tom Pitfield ’93, son of the late Nancy Pitfield, an exemplary parent volunteer who received the Speirs Medal posthumously in 2000.

The award will be presented each year to persons “who have, throughout their time at the school, demonstrated exceptional volunteerism and support for the Selwyn House community.”

The award includes a $5000 donation from the Pitfield Family Foundation, which the recipients can pass on to whatever special student or staff projects they choose.

A plaque bearing Mark and Lisa’s names, along with future recipients of the award, will be erected in the school.
