Barmish wins gold when Old Boy wrestlers meet at Concordia

A number of SHS Old Boys met in Ottawa on Sunday, October 29 in the Concordia University Gym for the 2017 Concordia University Wrestling tournament.
 
In attendance were David De Cotiis 2012, currently wrestling for Queen’s University, Sam Barmish 2014, currently with Vanier College, and Alex Moore 2012, also at Vanier.
 
Also present were former Gryphon Assistant Wrestling Coach Cleo Ncube, currently the Head Coach of McMaster University, and current Gryphon Head Coach Rob Moore.
 
At the tournament, Sam Barmish won a gold medal, while David De Cotiis withdrew from the tournament with an injury.
 
Alex Moore did not compete, as he will be participating in the Commonwealth Games Trials in Burnaby, BC on Friday, November 3.
 
At Selwyn House, this year's Gryphon Team has its first practice on Tuesday, November 7 and the Gryphon Wrestlers are looking forward to another training camp in Cuba this coming January, in preparation for the GMAA Championships.
