On October 24, Selwyn House Parent and Old Boy Justin Vineberg ’88 spoke to an assembly of Elementary School students about his days at Selwyn House in the 1970s and 1980s.
Justin, who is the father of Mitchell (Grade 8), attended Grades 2-11 at Selwyn House School from 1978 to 88. After graduating from Selwyn House, he studied commerce at Marianopolis College from 1988-90. He continued to study commerce at McGill University from 1990-93, switching to law school at McGill from 1993-97. Since 1997 he has been a lawyer and partner at the legal firm of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg.
But he was not at Selwyn House to discuss his professional life, but to the give the boys a glimpse of life at SHS nearly three decades ago.
He showed slides of life in the school in his day, in the classrooms, hallways, dining room and on the playground. He told them about the food, the uniforms, and the strict discipline of those years.
And he told them that, as an adult, he still maintains strong ties to the school as a Selwyn House Old Boy and as a current parent.
