SHS rowers compete in NY regatta

On October 27 and 28, the Selwyn House rowing team competed in the Head Of The Fish Regatta, a rowing race held on the last weekend of October each year on Fish Creek, within Saratoga County, New York State. The race is named the "Head" of the Fish because it is a head race. The event is hosted by the Saratoga Rowing Association.

The weekend was extremely cold and wet, but the kids faced it with a brave face. Very strong showings by our mens Junior 2x composed of Trevor Aitken and Alexis Delplace making a huge move at the end of the race, passing 3 crews. Our mens junior 8+ had the best race of their entire season, pushing hard until the last meter. Our mens Junior 4+'s also gained tons of experience racing down the course alongside hundreds of other kids. Head of the Fish had over 2100 entries this year, the second biggest head race in the States in terms of numbers of boats.
