GSLS Emcee & Leadership Ambassador Applications

Applications are now open and we are searching for top students to be leadership ambassadors (about 30-40 students total) and student emcees (4 students total) at the 2020 Global Student Leadership Summit! Ambassadors and emcees (grade 11 or 12 students) will act as leaders, volunteers, and crowd
energizers at the Summit.

The application can be found online here. Students will have to create an account to access the applications.

Additional information about leadership ambassadors:
  • Students must be comfortable leading a large group of students for 1 hour each day - this may include leading ice breaker games and brainstorming sessions.
  • In order to finish the application, a teacher must send in a reference to Ms. Kara Gunnarson (kara@ylcc.com) for each application.
  • Students must be available for a full day of training at the RBC Place London (formerly the London Convention Centre) on April 4, 2020 and must be able to get there themselves. Lunch will be provided.
  • Students must be available for the full length of the Summit from April 19 to April 21, 2020. Ambassadors must attend with their schools, and must have transportation and accommodation, GSLS is not responsible for chaperoning these students.
  • Although they are not required to pay the full conference fee, there is a fee of $85.00 for Leadership Ambassadors.
  • Applications close February 16, 2020.
Additional information about emcees:
  • These four students must welcome the spotlight as they will be in front of 2,000+ students, teachers and special guests at each General Session. They will be our main hosts for the event, leading the opening ceremonies, welcoming our special guests, thanking sponsors and introducing all the keynote speakers. We do require previous public speaking experience, but will provide coaching from some of our speakers.
  • In order to finish the application, a teacher must send in a reference to Ms. Kara Gunnarson (kara@ylcc.com) for each application.
  • Students must be available for training virtually over Zoom or in person before the Summit. More details to come.
  • Students must be available from April 18 to April 21, 2020. We require them to arrive 1 day earlier for onsite training.
  • There is no cost for student emcees - we provide all transportation costs (if necessary), accommodations and meals. They will be a part of our volunteer team and it is truly an experience of a lifetime.
  • Applications close February 16, 2020.
Selwyn House will have 5 students who will be attending this conference.  If you would like to join your friends, see Ms. Cazabon for more information!
