Teacher-Staff Appreciation Week takes flight

The week of February 15-19, members of the Selwyn House Parent Volunteer Association showed how much they value the hard work and dedication of the school’s faculty and staff. The annual Teacher-Staff Appreciation Week is always the high point of the year for staffers, but this year the event reached a higher altitude than ever before.

Adopting the theme of an airline vacation to Italy, the announcement came in the form of a mock plane ticket to Italy on “Selwynair” airlines, with the slogan “We just plane adore you!”

The treats started on Monday with in-flight snacks delivered to every staff member. On Tuesday it was popcorn and in-flight movies shown on screens throughout the school. Wednesday being a Ped Day, the activities took up again on Thursday, with a duty-free shopping raffle and an Italian lunch in Coristine Hall, with festive décor and an elaborate meal catered by Joe Beef Restaurant. Friday capped it all off with complimentary beverages served by “flight attendants” at the end of the school day.
