Students engage with Mark Pathy ‘86 during his stay on International Space Station

A group of students took part in a historic Q & A session with Mark Pathy ‘86 on Thursday, April 14.

Pathy was aboard the International Space Station (ISS) as a crew member of the Axiom Space AX-1 mission, accompanied by his Israeli crewmate Eytan Stibbe.

The students assembled in Coristine Hall as a live feed from the ISS was projected onto a giant screen. Senior School teacher Kevin Boyle and George Adamopoulos ‘21 hosted the event.

For approximately 30 minutes, students took turns asking Mark questions about his experience in space. Gasps and laughs were shared as the boys observed the effects of zero gravity while the two astronauts spoke.

Also joining the call were Israeli students from the Ramon SpaceLab and the Space Start-ups program.

Mark became the first Old Boy in the school’s history to go to space. He lifted off on Friday, April 8, and is expected to return to Earth in the coming days.
