Bronze Medal for SHS D3 basketball team at provincial tournament hosted by Selwyn House School
Over the weekend of April 14-16, Selwyn House School hosted the RSEQ Cadet M D3 Basketball Provincial Championships! Congratulations to our talented players who won the bronze medal in the tournament. Their hard work and determination paid off. We are so proud of all of our players for their exceptional performance on the court!
Selwyn House School hosted 16 teams from across the province with over 280 students living at Selwyn House for the weekend – sleeping in classrooms, eating meals and being transported to the games held at Dawson College. This enormous feat could not have happened without the organization of Director of Athletics, Mike Maurovich, Director of Senior School Neil Banerjee and a huge team of staff, both at SHS and at RSEQ, and the Sodexo kitchen staff. They, along with the dedicated support of 50 parents and 8 Old Boys, committed their time over the course of the weekend to ensure a successful event.
Director of Athletics Mike Maurovich commented that the event "was an excellent opportunity for Selwyn House School to put itself on the provincial map, and show that we can host an event in a small venue, and make it first-class. Sixteen regions across the province now know who Selwyn House School is and what we are capable of doing, and that we are involved in growing sports, growing sportsmanship and putting forth the message that athletics is for life."
