SHS kicks off 2023-24 school year

Selwyn House School held its annual full-school assembly on September 11, marking the beginning of the 2023-24 school year. Headmaster Michael Downey welcomed the students and staff. He announced that as long as he would be Headmaster, the theme for each year would be kindness, building on his message from the previous year. As he always says, it is cool to be kind and reminds the boys, "In a world where you can be anything, be kind."

After his speech, the Headmaster invited Massimo Lorenzetti, a Gr. 12 student, to the podium. Massimo was recognized as the school's first lifer of 13 years. He has been at Selwyn House since Kindergarten and is now enrolled in the new Grade 12 program.

Co-Head Prefects Crosby and Luca wished all K-12 students a wonderful year.

At the end of the assembly, Headmaster Downey asked the Kindergarten students to stand and look towards the back of the room, where the senior students were standing. He then asked the students to wave to each other, showing the younger students where they are headed and the seniors how far they had come.
