Ryan Ross, AYA program spokesperson for the Cedars Foundation, shared his battle with testicular cancer during a talk with Senior School students on September 6. He emphasized the importance of early health monitoring and discussed his unexpected diagnosis at 18, after a stroke left his left side paralyzed. Despite being an active soccer player and enjoying hobbies like playing the guitar and video games, cancer had unknowingly progressed to his brain for over two years without his knowledge. Ryan stressed the prevalence of this type of cancer in young men and the significance of maintaining good health. He expressed gratitude for his support system, and his commitment to helping programs like the Cedars Foundation that help those battling cancer who are in need of support. Cedars President, Jeff Shamie, also addressed the students talking about Ryan's inspiring story, the Cedars Foundation and encouraging the students and staff to participate in the Cedars CanSupport Dragon Boat Race.
