Grade 9 workshop day 2023

Ten Old Boys returned to Selwyn House School to participate in a breakfast mentoring session with Grade 9 students. During the event, students engaged in discussions with each alumnus, inquiring about their academic and career paths. Additionally, they completed questionnaires provided by Ms. Peterman, our College and University Advisor, to guide future advising sessions. This marks the initial phase of our students' exploration into life beyond Selwyn House, and we extend our gratitude to the Old Boys for generously investing their time to contribute to our students' growth. The second part of the day was a blend of fun and learning, focused on team-building exercises that fostered camaraderie and collaboration between the students. Ms. Brianna and Ms. Springer, our school counsellors, also led a workshop on conflict resolution so students could practice ways to resolve common conflicts in their lives in healthy ways. This workshop day is one of two experiences the students will have this year to help explore their post-secondary interests and further develop their connections with their peers and staff.
