Alex Singer '18 has been recognized as one of the “leaders in technological and artistic innovation” in North America's "Games" category on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list. The annual list begins with public nominations, receiving over 20,000 submissions collectively for the North America, Europe and Asia lists. Forbes' writers and editors evaluate the candidates, seeking recommendations from industry sources, analysts, and venture capitalists, among others. A panel of independent judges assesses the candidates based on various factors, including funding, revenue, and potential, before the list is finalized.

In 2015, while in eighth grade at Selwyn House School, his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for gaming led him to create Voldex, a company that has become a major player in the world of user-generated content. With a focus on creating fun and engaging games for platforms like Roblox and Fortnite, Voldex has quickly gained a reputation for publishing some of the most popular games on these platforms.

Alex's hard work and dedication has transformed Voldex from a small startup to a thriving company with 60 employees (and growing since the Forbes article was published). The company's impressive portfolio includes over 4.2 billion plays and 20 million monthly active users. Voldex has received investment from renowned venture capital firms such as Andreessen Horowitz.

Alex's success story is an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs everywhere. He wants students to know that his journey is proof that there are various paths to success after high school. Alex says, “My journey is not standard because I received the Thiel Fellowship and dropped out of university to focus on my company, and that's ok.” His unwavering determination and willingness to take risks have paid off in a big way, and Voldex is sure to continue to make waves in the gaming industry for years to come.
