Grade 6 to 7 Transition Student Panel

On April 26, Grade 6 students attended a panel discussion on the Transition to Middle School led by four Grade 7 students, Shelby G., Harry G., Leo V. and Jake T. The event was hosted by Ms. Faulkner, Head of Elementary School and Mr. Lajoie, Head of Middle School, and supported by the Grade 6 teaching staff, Ms. Beech, Middle School Assistant, and Mme Jean, Middle School French teacher. The Grade 6 students were given the opportunity to pose questions after our panelists offered brief presentation. They gave their thoughts on what the most challenging thing about the transition to Grade 7 was, and what the best thing about Middle School is. Questions from the Grade 6 boys were varied–some revolved around the shift from homerooms to core groups, having multiple teachers, the addition of a new class of students, lockers, the workload and the Veritas Golden Tie. All the students showed a great deal of interest and maturity! - Mr. Lajoie, Head of Middle School
