Midgets win second basketball tournament
The Selywn House Midget Basketball squad won the Selwyn House Invitational Tournament on February 16 and 17, beating arch-rival Loyola 68-65 in an exciting final.
This marks the Gryphons’ second tournament win in three weeks; they also won the Ed Meagher Invitational Tournament at Loyola on January 26 and 27.
Karl Schroeder (Grade 9) was named a tournament all-star on February 17. Kevin Paul (Gr. 10), Oliver Maurovich (Gr. 9) and Bryan Gorski (Gr. 10) also put in outstanding performances for the team.
The Juvenile team also fared very well in the tournament, making it all the way to the finals, only to lose out to LCC.
Dylan Brophy (Gr. 11) was a tournament all-star for the Juvenile Gryphons.
