Grade 5 Survival Field Trip at Summit Woods

On June 2 and 3, our Grade 5 students had an unforgettable half-day field trip to Summit Woods, inspired by their class novel, "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen. Ms. Kelsey, our Elementary School Outdoor Education Specialist, organized and set up incredible activities to truly put the boys in the main character's shoes. Through shelter building, spear making and throwing, the boys got a taste of what it would be like to survive in the Canadian wilderness.
