Selwyn House School Opens its Doors to new Grade 12!
We are thrilled to announce the official launch of Selwyn House School's Pre-University program! On Monday, August 21, Headmaster Michael Downey welcomed twenty Grade 12 students, their parents and teachers, Board Members, and invited guests to mark this moment in Selwyn's history. Mr. Downey recognized the work of the team who made this dream a reality: Head of Senior School Neil Banerjee, Pre-U Coordinator Stephanie Lynam, Director of Athletics Mike Maurovich, former Director of Academic Innovation and Growth Brenda Montgomery.
Board members worked with the Senior Leadership team to drive the strategy of the school. Board Chair Michael Avedesian, Courtney Beckerleg and Tom Pitfield were present to witness the grand opening.
Headmaster Downey honoured the inaugural class saying, "You, the young men in this room, are a page in our history book. Selwyn House School began in 1908. In 1963, Grade 10 was added followed by Grade 11 in 1964. Kindergarten was added in 1993. Thirty years later, we are finally adding a Grade 12. It is about time."
Stephanie Lynam and Neil Banerjee had the honour of cutting the ribbon and guests toured the Pre-U space for the first time.
We are truly grateful for the support of our incredible community as we embark on this new adventure. Together, we're shaping a bright future for our students, filled with knowledge, growth, and unforgettable experiences. We look forward to sharing exciting moments from Selwyn House School's Pre-University program! #SHSPreU #EducationExcellence
